1. Introduction

Psychic ("Psychic", "the App", "we", "us", or "our") is a personal finance and financial-awareness application operated by Anastasios Orestis Stefas, an individual based in Greece.

This Privacy Policy explains how Psychic collects, uses, stores and protects personal information when you create an account or use the App.

This Policy is intended to apply to Psychic users in the European Union ("EU"), European Economic Area ("EEA") and United States ("US").

Psychic is designed to help users record and better understand their finances by organizing financial activity and allowing them to add personal context to their spending, including how satisfied an expense made them feel.

For purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), Anastasios Orestis Stefas is the data controller responsible for personal data processed through Psychic.

2. Age Requirements

Psychic is intended for users who are at least 15 years old.

Psychic is not directed toward children under 15, and individuals under 15 are not permitted to create or maintain a Psychic account.

Users aged 15 to 17 are still minors. Depending on where you live and the feature involved, applicable law may require authorization from a parent or legal guardian.

Where parental or guardian authorization is legally required for a particular processing activity, Psychic may request such authorization or restrict the relevant feature.

United States

Psychic is not directed toward children under 13 as defined by the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA").

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Because Psychic's own minimum age is 15, users under 15 should not create an account.

If we learn that an account belongs to a person who does not meet the applicable minimum-age requirements, we may suspend or delete the account and associated information as appropriate.

EU and EEA

Data-protection rules concerning minors may vary between EU/EEA countries.

Where processing relies specifically on consent and applicable law requires parental or guardian authorization because of the user's age, we will take appropriate measures before carrying out that processing.

3. Personal Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you use Psychic.

It may include the following general categories.

Account Information

Information used to create and manage your account, such as your email address, username, profile information and account identifiers.

Financial and App Information

Information you choose to record in Psychic, such as:

• wallets and budgets;
• expenses and income;
• transaction information;
• categories;
• satisfaction ratings and other spending-related classifications;
• notes you choose to provide;
• preferences and settings.

Communications

Information associated with communications relating to Psychic, including account verification, password recovery, support and other service-related communications.

Technical and Operational Information

Limited technical information generated when you use Psychic or its supporting services, such as authentication events, errors, service logs, security information and technical information required to operate and troubleshoot the Service.

Psychic does not currently use third-party advertising trackers or use your financial history to create advertising profiles.

4. Information You Choose to Enter

Some parts of Psychic allow you to enter notes or other free-text information.

You decide what information you provide.

We recommend avoiding unnecessary highly sensitive information, particularly information concerning:

• health or medical conditions;
• racial or ethnic origin;
• political opinions;
• religious or philosophical beliefs;
• trade-union membership;
• sexual orientation or sex life;
• biometric or genetic information;
• other identifiable individuals.

Psychic does not require this information to provide its current features.

5. How We Use Your Information

We may use personal information to:

• create and maintain your Psychic account;
• authenticate users;
• provide the features of Psychic;
• store and synchronize information you choose to save;
• organize and display your financial records;
• provide financial-awareness features;
• send necessary service communications;
• provide account recovery;
• respond to support requests;
• maintain and improve the reliability of Psychic;
• diagnose errors and technical failures;
• protect accounts and the Service against abuse or unauthorized access;
• comply with applicable legal obligations;
• establish, exercise or defend legal claims where necessary.

For users protected by GDPR, the legal basis depends on the processing activity and may include:

• performance of our agreement with you;
• compliance with a legal obligation;
• our legitimate interests in operating and securing Psychic;
• your consent where consent is specifically required.

Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent where applicable.

6. Financial and Behavioral Information

Some information stored in Psychic relates to your personal finances and your experience of spending.

We recognize that users may consider this information particularly private.

Psychic uses this information to provide the features you choose to use and for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Current Beta

The current beta allows users to record contextual information about spending, including satisfaction and other spending-related classifications.

These inputs form part of the financial information displayed and organized by Psychic.

Psychic's current beta does not use this information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.

Future Behavioral and AI Features

Psychic may introduce additional behavioral-analysis or artificial-intelligence features in the future.

Those planned features should not be understood as active merely because they are mentioned here.

Before introducing processing that materially changes how your information is analyzed or used, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide additional notices, choices or consent mechanisms where required.

Additional safeguards may apply when such features are used by people under 18.

7. Transactional Emails

Psychic uses email for communications necessary to provide and protect your account.

These communications may include:

• account verification;
• password recovery;
• security-related messages;
• welcome messages;
• important account notifications;
• material service or legal notices.

We currently use Resend to deliver certain transactional emails.

Information necessary to deliver these emails, including your email address and related technical delivery information, may therefore be processed by Resend on our behalf.

Psychic does not currently intentionally use email open or link-click tracking for authentication or other sensitive transactional messages.

Transactional emails are not used for third-party advertising.

8. Analytics and Service Monitoring

We use operational and technical information available through our infrastructure providers, including Supabase and Resend, to understand whether Psychic and its supporting systems are functioning correctly.

This information may help us detect:

• service failures;
• authentication problems;
• errors and bugs;
• performance issues;
• security events;
• failed email deliveries.

We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve Psychic.

We do not currently use this information for targeted advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising.

9. Service Providers

We use third-party service providers where necessary to operate Psychic.

Supabase

Psychic uses Supabase for backend infrastructure, including services such as authentication, databases, storage, synchronization, APIs and technical infrastructure.

Supabase processes personal information on our behalf in connection with providing these services.

Resend

Psychic uses Resend for certain transactional-email services.

Resend may process information required to deliver these messages, such as email addresses and technical email-delivery information.

Other Providers

We may introduce or replace service providers as Psychic develops.

If this materially changes how your personal information is processed, we will update this Privacy Policy as appropriate.

10. We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information

Psychic does not sell your personal information.

We do not sell your financial history or behavioral information.

We do not provide advertisers with access to individual users' financial histories.

We do not currently "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as that term may be defined under applicable US privacy laws.

We do not currently process your information for third-party targeted advertising.

Because we do not currently engage in these activities, Psychic does not currently provide a separate "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" mechanism.

If these practices change in the future, we will update our privacy disclosures and provide legally required controls before or when the change becomes effective.

11. International Data Transfers

Psychic is operated from Greece but uses service providers that may operate internationally.

As a result, your personal information may be processed in countries other than the country in which you live, including the United States and other jurisdictions in which our service providers or their subprocessors operate.

For users in the EU/EEA, where GDPR requires safeguards for transfers outside the EEA, appropriate transfer mechanisms may include:

• European Commission adequacy decisions;
• Standard Contractual Clauses;
• the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable;
• other safeguards permitted under applicable data-protection law.

Our service providers maintain data-processing and international-transfer arrangements applicable to their services.

12. How Long We Keep Your Information

Maintaining historical financial information is part of Psychic's functionality.

Information associated with your account is therefore generally retained for as long as your Psychic account remains active, unless:

• you delete particular information;
• you permanently delete your account;
• a shorter retention period is required by law;
• we determine that information is no longer reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

When you permanently delete your account, we initiate deletion of account-linked personal information from Psychic's active systems.

Certain information may remain temporarily in:

• backup systems;
• security or operational logs;
• transactional-email records;
• records required by law;
• information reasonably necessary to investigate security incidents, fraud or abuse;
• information necessary for legal claims.

Such information is not intended to be retained indefinitely and will be deleted, anonymized or rendered inaccessible according to the relevant retention cycle or legal requirement.

13. Account Deletion

You may permanently delete your Psychic account using the account-management functionality provided by Psychic.

Account deletion is permanent.

Before deleting your account, we recommend exporting any information you wish to retain.

After deletion has been completed, we may not be able to recover your financial records.

Limited information may remain temporarily for the reasons described in Section 12.

14. Exporting Your Information

Psychic provides functionality allowing you to export information associated with your account.

This allows you to retain your own copy of information stored through Psychic and may also assist you in exercising applicable data-portability rights.

15. EU and EEA Privacy Rights

If GDPR applies to you, you may have rights including the right to:

Access

Request information about whether we process your personal data and obtain a copy where applicable.

Rectification

Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.

Erasure

Request deletion of personal data where applicable legal requirements are satisfied.

Restriction

Request restriction of certain processing in circumstances provided by law.

Data Portability

Receive certain information you provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format where the requirements for portability apply.

Object

Object to certain processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests.

Withdraw Consent

Where processing is based specifically on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

Withdrawal does not affect processing that lawfully occurred before withdrawal.

Lodge a Complaint

You may lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection supervisory authority.

16. United States Privacy Rights

Privacy rights in the United States vary by state.

Depending on where you live, the law that applies to Psychic and the circumstances of the processing, you may have rights concerning your personal information.

These may include the right to:

• know or confirm whether we process personal information about you;
• access personal information;
• request correction of inaccurate information;
• request deletion of personal information;
• obtain a portable copy of certain personal information;
• opt out of certain sales of personal information;
• opt out of certain sharing or processing for targeted advertising;
• opt out of certain forms of profiling;
• limit certain uses of sensitive personal information where applicable;
• receive equal service and not be discriminated against for exercising applicable privacy rights.

Not every right listed above applies in every US state or to every organization.

Psychic currently does not sell personal information or use personal information for third-party targeted advertising.

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.

Where applicable law permits an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, we may ask for appropriate evidence that the person is authorized to act for you.

If applicable state law gives you the right to appeal our response to a privacy request, you may submit an appeal by contacting the same email address and clearly stating that you are appealing a privacy-rights decision.

17. Privacy of Younger Users

Psychic's minimum age is 15.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 15 through a Psychic account.

In particular, Psychic is not directed toward children under 13 and is not intended to collect personal information from children protected by COPPA without the legally required parental involvement.

If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that a child who does not meet Psychic's minimum-age requirements has created an account or provided personal information to Psychic, contact:

We will review the request and take appropriate action, which may include deleting the account and associated personal information.

18. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information stored through Psychic.

These may include:

• authenticated user accounts;
• encrypted network communications;
• database access controls;
• user-specific access rules;
• restricted administrative access;
• infrastructure security and monitoring.

Psychic's database is designed so that authenticated users access information associated with their own accounts rather than other users' information.

However, no online system can guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and should contact us at security@getpsychic.app if you believe your account has been compromised.

19. Information About Other People

Psychic is primarily intended for recording information relating to your own finances.

Please avoid entering unnecessary personal information about other identifiable individuals in notes or other free-text areas.

20. Legal Requests

We may disclose personal information where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:

• comply with applicable law;
• comply with a valid legal process or legally binding request;
• protect the security or integrity of Psychic;
• prevent fraud, abuse or unlawful conduct;
• protect our legal rights or the rights of others.

We will not voluntarily disclose user information to public authorities merely because it is requested where applicable law requires a valid legal basis or process.

21. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Psychic is under active development.

We may update this Privacy Policy when:

• features change;
• our processing activities change;
• service providers change;
• behavioral or AI features are introduced;
• applicable laws or regulatory requirements change.

Where a change materially affects how your personal information is processed, we will provide notice where required by applicable law.

The current Privacy Policy will remain accessible through Psychic and/or the official Psychic website.

The date at the beginning of this document identifies the most recent revision.
